Committee Objectives

    1. Provide recommendations annually to the board for philanthropic contributions by IAWEA, as described in the administrative procedures in this manual.
    2. Conduct fundraising events at the Annual Conference to support Water For People and the Xicotepec Project.
    3. Support the DMACC Operator Scholarship Program, including participation in planning of the Shrimp Bingo fundraiser.
    4. Support philanthropic efforts of other organizations with similar mission and vision.
    5. Share information about Water For People, the Xicotepec Project, and other relevant organizations with IAWEA Membership.
    6. Promote relevant organizations to the public, including through events such as the Iowa Children’s Water Festival.

Philanthropic Contributions

IAWEA has adopted a new procedure for determining philanthropic contributions. Applications are due October 24, 2025, and will be reviewed by the Philanthropy Committee. The committee will make funding recommendations to the board for inclusion in the annual budget. The application can be submitted via webform or email (PDF and editable Word Document available).
