Lead one of the Midwest’s most sophisticated municipal utility systems. Cedar Rapids seeks a strategic, forward-thinking Utilities Director to oversee water, wastewater, and solid waste operations within a $135M+ enterprise.

This is a high-impact role at the center of major growth and infrastructure investment, including a ~$350M wastewater renovation and significant ~$130M water system expansion driven by industrial demand and economic development.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise (water/wastewater strongly preferred), strong financial and capital planning experience, and the ability to communicate effectively with City leadership, industry partners, and the public; an “extroverted engineer” who can lead at both a technical and executive level.
