Iowa Project AWARE, the annual canoe-based volunteer river cleanup, will convene in central Iowa this year. The cleanup has been set for July 11-16 on the Middle and South Raccoon Rivers in Carroll, Guthrie, and Dallas Counties. A group from the Iowa Water Environment Association and the Iowa Section of the American Water Works Association is being organized by Taylor Hopper (contact information below).
The IAWEA/AWWA group will participate in two to three days on the river, starting July 12. (Sunday, July 11 will consist of a meet & greet and camping.) IAWEA/AWWA members and friends are welcome to participate for all or part of the group outing or even stay longer if desired. Sign up soon for the lowest cost; the pre-sale discount expires April 15. Additional discounts are available for young professional and student members of IAWEA and the Iowa Section AWWA.
